Metal poles for vineyards and orchards
Comavit metal poles for vineyards and orchards are manufactured using high-quality structural steels through a production cycle that ensures complete traceability of the materials used.
All posts are produced through a cold profiling process, involving multiple steps to ensure high strength. The proposed sections all have an open structure to ensure good ventilation, preventing condensation in the part in contact with the ground.
End posts
Comavit’s end posts are designed with holes at a 10 cm step to insert the roll and its catch. Moreover, holes are located on the back of the post to allow the passage of wires and ropes for anchorage. It is therefore recommended to install the post with its back facing the anchorage. Close to the ground all posts have small lateral holes to fix the anti breaking-through plate. Comavit offers all necessary items which can be combined with the end posts. Among these we can find shock absorbers and clamps for moving pairs. In addition, the end posts can be used for assemblage in open cable structures whose purpose is to support crops in expanded form such as pomegranate and table grapes.Intermediate posts
Comavit’s intermediate posts can be divided in two product lines: a line characterized by sheared hooks inside the profile of the post and a line characterizes by rusted hooks that can be both aligned or external to the profile. The main difference between the two is that sheared hooks tend to be more resistant and are not deformed by the grape harvesters thanks to a reinforcement fold along the vertical ax. On the contrary, rusted hooks do not require removal of material, therefore they have less impact on the mechanical characteristics of the post.Posts with stamped hooks

Materials
Sendzimir pre-galvanized steel
Sendzimir galvanizing is carried out before the rolling process on hot-dip galvanizing lines by dipping the steel strip into a molten zinc bath. The characteristics of this material are: – Uniformity of galvanizing throughout the length of the foil. – Possibility of choosing the thickness of the galvanizing, from 275 to 600 grams per meter. – Significant cost reduction being a viable alter- native to the time-consuming post-calvanizing process, especially in areas with low humidity climates. – Attention to the environment: due to the lower use of zinc, natural resources are better respected (substantial reduction in the rate of zinc runoff into the soil).
Cor-ten steel
It is a steel made from steel alloyed with other elements such as copper, chromium, phosphorus, nickel, sulfur, manganese, chromium, and silicon that has attained wide popularity throughout the world because of the characteristics that distinguish it and to which it also owes its name:
– CORrosion resistance (high resistance to corrosion)
– TENsile Strength (high mechanical strength).
Cor-ten steel, as a result of exposure to atmospheric conditions, becomes coated with a patina produced by the oxides of its alloying elements that prevents corrosion from progressively spreading. Such a protective film is brown in color and varies in hue with the passage of time. The advantages of using Cor-ten steel can be briefly summarized as:
– Greater mechanical strength and better durability/price ratio.
– Reduced visual impact due to brown coloring.
Hot-dip galvanized steel
Galvanizing is a treatment aimed at protecting steel parts from corrosion and rust. Hot-dip galvanizing is obtained by immersing the already molded, profiled and properly pickled and degreased product in tanks containing molten zinc at a temperature of about 450° for a variable immersion time depending on the thickness to be obtained. This treatment produces a protective coating of oxides, carbonates and zinc hydrates that metallurgically bonds to the substrate, thereby insulating the steel. In addition, in case of scratches or abrasions, the zinc layer having lower potential, oxidizes instead of the steel. Because of these characteristics, hot-dip galvanized steel offers excellent resistance to impact and abrasion, thus ensuring remarkable durability. Galvanizing is carried out following the specifications dictated by European Standard UNI EN ISO 1461.
